During the third quarter of 2021, the top 5 Photo and Video applications on the iOS platform in Africa showed varied performance trends. Here’s a closer look at how these apps fared in terms of weekly downloads, revenue, and active users.

YouTube: Watch, Listen, Stream saw consistent growth in weekly revenue, starting at around $38K in late June and peaking at approximately $40K by the end of September. Weekly downloads fluctuated but generally increased, peaking at over 90K in mid-July and ending the quarter at about 82K. The app maintained a high number of weekly active users, growing steadily from 10.3M to 10.5M over the quarter.

Facetune AI Photo/Video Editor experienced a slight dip in weekly revenue mid-quarter, with figures ranging from around $7.6K to $11.9K, and closing the quarter at approximately $9.8K. Weekly downloads declined from 10.1K at the start of the quarter to 4.2K by the end. Active user numbers also saw a downward trend, starting at 59K and dropping to 44K.

Canva: Design, Art & AI Editor showed a positive trend in weekly revenue, starting at $11.3K and increasing to around $12.5K by the end of September. Weekly downloads remained relatively stable, with minor fluctuations, starting at 5.6K and ending at 6.4K. Active users increased from 60K to nearly 67K during the quarter.

Picsart AI Photo Video Editor had stable weekly revenue around $7K to $10K, closing the quarter at about $10.3K. Downloads remained consistent, fluctuating between 19K and 23K, and active users hovered around 360K to 370K throughout the quarter.

Splice - Video Editor & Maker had a stable revenue trend with weekly earnings ranging from $5.3K to $7.4K. Downloads were relatively stable, peaking at 5.4K in early September. Active users fluctuated slightly, ending the quarter at around 15.6K.
